I had a frame that didn't have any glass in it (I had broken it a while back) and kept it wanting to do something with it but didn't know what yet. I decided to turn it into a chalk board with a fabric frame.

Cut enough fabric to wrap around each side of the frame.

Staple to fabric to the back of the frame.

Use a glue gun along the inner part and fold over the fabric tightly.

Cut the fabric diagonally at the corner and glue behind.

This is what it looks like with both sides covered.

Fold over the sides of the fabric strip before attaching to the other edges.

This is the other side attached.

Fold over the edges the best you can using glue to help, then cut away stray threads.

Paint the back part of the frame with chalk board paint.
Tidy up the fabric and put the board in.

Hang and write with chalk :)

Great for old frames, cover with fun kids fabric and hang in their room with chores or use as an art space.
